Crash Course on Louisiana

There are many things I don’t understand about the state of Louisiana.

I’ve made a list of things that I think only a Louisianian could explain to me.

Florida

Florida – Disney World, white sandy beaches, golf courses, retirement homes… right?  Not so much.

Those are the parts of Florida in magazines and travel brochures.

Lower 9

Our good friend David Cook took us to the Lower 9 yesterday.

The Lower 9 refers to the 9th ward in New Orleans, located right next the levees that were hit the hardest after Hurricane Katrina struck in August of 2005.

Newport, TN

Newport, TN is the perfect small town.

Tennessee…I Volunteer to Leave

I have developed an irrational fear of Tennessee.

What if we never get out of Tennessee?  This is a legitimate question.

Wayne, WV

I know the title is Wayne, WV.  But I’m not going to talk about Wayne.

Why?  Well first, I don’t want to.  Second, I’m not actually sure when we entered or left Wayne.  Third, don’t ask so many questions.

Open for Business

West Virginia is an interesting place.  John Denver claims it to be “almost heaven”, it is full of natural beauty and reminiscent of simpler times.
