A List

I’m trying to find the positive in this busted transmission, here’s a list I’ve been working on in no particular order of importance:

1.At least we know the transmission won’t break when we are 2600 miles down the road with a lot less money (knock on wood).

2.We’ve learned to rely on God’s grace and the kindness of his people.

3.This is a story we can tell our grandkids when we are 80 years old about how good they have things now.

4.This experience opened our eyes to what it is like to be homeless.  I think it will help us down the road when we find someone in need of help.

5.We stayed in a hotel room for 2 nights.  3 showers in 3 days...awesome!

6.Internet access has allowed us ample time to update the website to make it better for you to read.

7.There’s a machine in the hotel lobby that dispenses anything from coffee to a mocha...all for free!

8.We had a warm place to sleep on two nights that were the coldest Tennessee has seen in years.

9.It’s taught me that we are not in control of this trip.  God is behind the wheel.  Sounds cliché but it’s true.

10.With all our food in our van in the garage of a dealership we ended up finding some of the most delicious Chinese food I’ve ever had for only $3.75.

So it’s like a weird bi-polar experience. When I want a quick pick me up or story about the providence of God that fills me with warmth - I read Melissa. When I want to read a longer op-ed piece, full of pithy comments that fill me with...well, let’s just call it something less than warmth...I read Brad.

Your little white baby nieces and nephews miss you - hope to see you this weekend. We’ll be in TN Fri-Sun, so call us if you end up near Nashville - Brian

Just dropping a note to say Hey, I’ve been thinking about you guys.

I guess since you decided to abandon the modern world of telephone speak I will just have to say “ .”

Did you hear that?

Oh sweet. Hotels are fun too! Remember that $3 and some cent Chinese food in Athens?

Mal- We actually just had that Chinese food when we were in Athens.  It’s a little more expensive now, but equally as delicious.
