Vacant houses and lots plague many streets in the inner city.

The lawns are left to grow and grow.  The houses become more and more dilapidated.  Animals and bugs live in the overgrown weeds.  The sidewalks are blocked by bushes and grass that need upkeep. 

These vacant lots are headaches for the people living around them.  They reduce the value of nearby property and makes other houses and lots look worse. 

We plan to clean up vacant lots in our neighborhood.  We can keep it mowed and reduce the weeds.  We can make sure trash is picked up out of the yard.

Most of the time, neighbors wait around and complain to the city, waiting for someone else to come clean up the vacant lot.  Instead of waiting around for some agency to do it, we can take the time to clean it up ourselves.  We can show people that there are better ways to do things, and that someone loves them enough to take care of it.

We can love our neighbors by beautifying the community.
